Ken Hailpern has served as Spiritual Leader of Beth Shalom since 2010. He brings to our synagogue over a half century of experience in Jewish education, administration, and congregational leadership. Ken hails from Colorado, where he served as Cantor and Religious Leader at Beth Israel Congregation in Greeley, Education Director at Congregation Beth Joseph in Denver, and Administrator of Denver’s Community High School of Jewish Studies. Prior to moving to the desert, Ken served as a senior professional at Southern California’s Brandeis-Bardin Institute, where he held leadership positions in administration, programming and operations.
Ken conducts our Shabbat and Festival morning, High Holy Day, and alternating Friday evening services. He officiates at life-cycle events and is involved in the cultural and social life of Beth Shalom. |
Dr. Noam Arzt serves as our Ba’al K’riah [Torah Reader] and Ba’al T’filah [Service Leader] on Shabbat and Festival mornings and the High Holy Days.
A native of Virginia and the product of Camp Ramah and Jewish day schools in New York, Noam descends from a rabbinical family closely associated with the Conservative movement. Prior to moving to the desert, Noam and his wife, Heidi, were actively involved in synagogue life in New Jersey and San Diego, CA. Noam’s superb Torah reading and davening skills are a most welcome addition to our congregation. Noam and Heidi are also involved in Beth Shalom’s educational and programmatic activities. |
